Associate Professor Fahim Khan globally selected as a member of ACM Future of Computing Academy

Fahim Khan, associate professor at INIAD, Toyo University, has been inducted as a member of the Future of Computing Academy (FCA). The academy is an initiative of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world’s largest scientific and educational computing society.

ACM-FCA is an initiative created by ACM to support and foster the next generation of computing leaders. The Academy is a platform that enables the next generation of researchers, practitioners, educators and entrepreneurs to develop a coherent and influential voice that addresses challenging issues facing the field and society in general. The ACM-FCA seeks to harness collective action to define and launch new ACM initiatives that will carry the computing community into the future.

The 46 inaugural inductees, representing the brightest young computing professionals of the present generation, are an international group, originally from 19 different countries. Dr. Khan is the only inductee selected from Japan.

As a member of the ACM-FCA, Dr. Khan was invited to join the 50th anniversary of the Turing Award in San Francisco, the most prestigious technical award in the field of Computing and often referred to as the Nobel Prize in Computer Science. As part of the grand program, he was also selected to take part in a small group discussion with Turing laureates Martin Hellman (2015) and Andrew Yao (2000).
