The Graduate School of Information Networking for Innovation and Design (INIAD Graduate School) at Toyo University conducts education and research in close collaboration with the Faculty of INIAD. Starting from the 2026 academic year, we will implement a significant curriculum revision.

Establishment of Seven New Research Areas

We are introducing seven new research areas that expand upon INIAD’s core subject groups. In each area, students will engage in advanced and specialized research across various application fields, all built upon a solid foundation of computer science.

New Courses for Recurrent Education (Professional Lifelong Learning)

In the rapidly evolving field of computer science, continuous learning of the latest technologies is essential for conducting high-level research.

To address this, we are establishing new foundational courses in both general computer science and specific research areas, designed specifically for working professionals to relearn and master the latest digital technologies.

Master’s Program

In this program, students acquire deep expertise and conduct research in various application fields centered on computer science. It is particularly recommended for those who wish to identify innovative solutions using IoT and AI for challenges encountered in their daily professional work. A Doctoral Program was also established in the 2019 academic year.

To meet the needs of working professionals seeking to “relearn” while continuing their careers, the following systems are in place:

Entrance Examination Waiver System

If a preliminary screening determines that an applicant possesses sufficient knowledge in the field of Information Networking—based on professional experience, certifications, or academic performance—the primary entrance examination will be waived.

Note: In cases where the screening confirms sufficient knowledge but necessitates further verification of the applicant’s research capabilities, only the “Foundational Subjects” will be waived, and the applicant will be required to take the “Specialized Subjects” portion of the primary examination.

Long-term Study System

For students with time constraints due to professional commitments, childcare, or family nursing care, INIAD offers a Long-term Study System. By applying at the time of admission, students can plan their curriculum over a three-year period while paying the tuition fees equivalent to only two years.

Early Completion Program

Students who demonstrate exceptional academic or research achievements may be permitted to complete their program in less than the standard two years (one year or one and a half years), subject to prescribed procedures and approval by the Graduate School.
